MY NOVELS

LETS HAVE LOOK AT MY FAVOURITE NOVELS

HITLER'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY-MEIN KEMPF

Hitler's Autobiography, written in Landsberg prison after the putsch and exceeded in popularity by only the Bible.

English translation: My Struggle or My Fight) is the signature work of Adolf Hitler, combining elements of autobiography with an exposition of Hitler's political ideology of Nazism. Volume 1 of Mein Kampf was published in 1925, with volume 2 in 1926.[1]
In Mein Kampf, Hitler makes a biographical account of his life and also describes plans for German-allied countries to rule Europe, along a racist worldview of white supremacy with Aryans as the master race at the top and Jews at the bottom: Germany would re-arm and join Britain and Italy as allies to defeat France and Eastern Europe, eventually overthrowing the Soviet Union to conquer the so-called "twin evils" of Communism and Judaism, giving Germany Lebensraum (living-space) to the east.
In Mein Kampf, Hitler uses the main thesis of "The Jewish peril", which speaks of an alleged Jewish conspiracy to gain world leadership and also warns against the French. Overall, however, it does explain many details of Hitler's childhood and the process by which he became increasingly anti-Semitic and militaristic, especially during his years in Vienna, Austria. In one early chapter, he wrote about how for the first time in the city streets he noticed distinctively dressed Jews unlike those he already knew and then asked himself "Was that a German?" rather than "Was that a Jew?"

THE GOD OF SMALL THINGS - Arundati Roy(an INDIAN PRIDE)

The God of Small Things (1997) is a semi-autobiographical, politically charged novel by Indian author Arundhati Roy. It is a story about the childhood experiences of a pair of fraternal twins who become victims of circumstance. The God of Small Things is Roy's first book, and as of 2006, is her only novel. Completed in 1996, the book took four years to write. The quality of the writing was first recognized by Pankaj Mishra, an editor with HarperCollins, who sent it to three British publishers. Roy received half-a-million pounds (approx. $970,000 USD) in advances, and rights to the book were sold in 21 countries.

C.S. Lewis
The Chronicles Of Narnia
The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of seven fantasy novels for children written by C. S. Lewis. It is considered a classic of children's literature and is the author's best-known work, having sold over 100 million copies in 41 languages. Written by Lewis between 1949 and 1954 and illustrated by Pauline Baynes, The Chronicles of Narnia have been adapted several times, complete or in part, for radio, television, stage, and cinema.
The series contains many allusions to traditional Christian ideas, presented in a format designed to make them easily accessible to younger readers; however, the books can also be read purely for their adventure, colour, and richness of ideas, and as a result have become favourites of children and adults, Christians and non-Christians alike. (They had, for example, considerable success in their Israeli Hebrew translation.) In addition to employing Christian themes, Lewis also borrows characters and ideas from Greek and Roman mythology, as well as from traditional British and Irish fairy tales.
The Chronicles of Narnia present the adventures of children who play central roles in the unfolding history of the fictional realm of Narnia, a place where animals talk, magic is common, and good battles evil. Each of the books (with the exception of The Horse and His Boy) feature as their protagonists children from our world who are magically transported to Narnia, where they are called upon to help the lion Aslan set some wrong to right.

Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, Presented by Paul W. Collins
Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, Presented by Paul W. Collins
by Paul W. Collins
This is a novelization of the play incorporating Shakespeare’s dialogue – no footnotes! At the end of a violent Scottish insurrection, three mischievous agents of Fate tempt a valiant warrior who in times of peace has been an unprincipled thane, a nobleman eager to rise, but reluctant to create political opportunity by criminal means. His ambitious wife is not so hesitant – she demands that he act, and the pair’s conniving soon bears its fruits – and consequences. Living in luxury, the deadly couple are haunted: she, tormented by nightmarish guilt, he, sleepless, and driven to violent action in hopes of altering the dismal destiny prophesied for him. Macbeth’s extravagance and increasingly malevolent actions arouse fear, then stir resistance, bringing Scotland’s nobility to the verge of civil war. Always bold, he is fearless after again listening to the ‘witches’. As have many others, after seizing power and exerting it ruthlessly, he comes to believe he’s invincible. Only the impossible, it seems, could defeat Macbeth – but his patriotic opponents must try.
